ACADEMIC ENGLISH


  • Your Goal – You want to study in an Australian school, vocational college or university.
  • Course description – Preparing you for study at an English-speaking university, higher education or vocational institute.

EAP (English for Academic Purposes) is a university and TAFE (Technical and Further Education) preparation course. This course is designed for students with upper intermediate to advanced levels of English, who want to take an Australian TAFE, undergraduate or postgraduate course.

The aim of Academic English course is to develop the students’ awareness, knowledge and skills in the use of English as the language of teaching and learning in a vocational and, or university environment. The course will focus on writing, reading and listening, grammar and vocabulary development, oral presentation skills, research skills and web literacy. There will be an emphasis on the development of critical literacy and critical thinking throughout the course.

By engaging in such activities, students will gain increased understanding in using English to communicate in academic contexts at Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

First One Education will guide you to enter any degree with EAP (English for Academic Purposes).
